KIDS' GUERNICA is a project for children in different places of the world to create peace paintings on huge canvases the same size as Pablo Picasso's "Guernica", 1937 (3.5 m × 7.8m), which protested against the brutality of bombing in the town of Gernika during the Spanish civil war.

KIDS' GUERNICA project was initiated by ART JAPAN NETWORK in 1995, the year of the 50th anniversary of World War II. More than 50 wonderful paintings were already completed for this project in 22 countries by the end of 2001.The participant children expressed powerful messages of peace with their creativity and imagination, which would contribute to world peace in the 21st century.
