Afghan Royal Family supported the plan of KIDS' GUERNICA in Kabul
On March, His Royal Highness, the Prince of Afghanistan Zaher Mirwis visited Kids' Guernica at Plan de Corones in Italy. He was accompanied by Prof. Marco Braghero, the "PEACE WAVES" NGO president who will soon travel to Afghanistan to help in restructuring the local Public Educational System. The Prince was very much impressed by the whole project and watched carefully one by one, asking details about them and seriously considering which one could best represent the spirit of the exhibition to be brought back to Afghanistan. After taking into consideration many aspects, the Prince selected the Palestinian/Israelian canvas, the one who was jointly painted at Toblach, in Italy, last November. The Prince explained that although from the strict artistic point of view there were many others, even more impressive, canvasses, the fact that Afghanistan is so close to the Middle East and that this canvas is the result of a difficult but successful "teamwork" was d! ecisive. Mr. Pio d'Emila. one of KIDS' GUERNICA International Committee visited Rome with Prof. Braghero to hand over the painting to His Majesty, the King Zaher Shah at his Residence. The King agreed to realize this project in Afghanistan when he returned to Afghanistan after 29 years of imposed exhile. (Report from Pio d'Emilia in Italy)
