KIDS’ GUERNICA workshop was held in collaboration with Ubud community at Puri Lukisan museum. Totally 40 elementary school students participated in this workshop from five different schools in Ubud and they finished two peaceful paintings.
Voluntary staff from Japan who had arrived on August 4th joined the workshop from early in the next morning. At first children were scattered on the big canvas and started the outline drawing inside the museum. Soon the big canvas was filled with drawings of the wonderful nature of Bali. “Why don’t you draw that tree bigger?” “What do you think if I draw some fish here?” The children discussed the idea with each others and finalized the outline of the painting. We staff were stunned by them who drew everything without looking at them. The workshop was a lot of fun with many cheerful faces and laughter, we had snacks and lunch together, made some origami, paper folding, and also played Frisbee.
