The concept of the project was brought by Dr.Abdulla Al-Uuhanna to a group of interested teachers at the college of Basic Education,Kuwait City. The significance of the project was because of the continuing situation concerning the POW's still in Iraq .It was agreed upon by the teachers to participate in the project.
The materials for the project (canvas, paint, etc) were purchased from the United States at a cost of 2,000(dollars). The children were selected from the Fine Arts Institute. They were shown tapes of the Gulf WAR and slides.
We discussed the tapes and the need for the world to know about the war and the POW's. The children drew sketches then these were transfered to the canvas.
From 5:00pm to 10:00pm twice a week. The children came and painted. The children enjoyed this project. They learned about the war and the need for the world to help get our POW's back.
